About the Event

Workshops for Doctors New to UK Practice

The GMC are pleased to offer doctors new to the UK and working at University Hospitals Plymouth the opportunity to take part in a programme of workshops designed to support their induction and raise awareness of GMC guidance.

While this programme is aimed at those new to UK practice the material will also be beneficial to more experienced doctors.

The four interactive workshops will be led by one of the GMC’s Regional Liaison Advisers. Each workshop will focus on different ethical topics to help doctors understand how to deal with issues that arise on a day-to-day basis in their clinical practice.

Places can be booked for all 4 sessions or individual workshops. Please register for each session seperately if you would like to attend more than 1.

Session 3 will be covering Record Keeping, Reflection and Managing Working Relationships:

· Keeping good records

· What to record

· Common pitfalls

· How to avoid problems

· The importance of reflection

· Reflecting openly

· Can my reflections get me into trouble?

· Communicating effectively in a stressful environment

You will need to organise your own study leave, following the Trust's study leave policy in order to attend during work hours. Details of the study leave process can be found on the 'Study Leave' tab on this website.

If you have any questions about the session, please get in touch with John Davey at the GMC (john.davey@gmc-uk.org) or Caitlin Taylor at PGMC (caitlin.taylor4@nhs.net/01752 430493).
