About the Event
Prof. Suzette Woodward is a former paediatric intensive care nurse who has worked in the NHS for 45 years with nearly 30 years focusing on clinical risk and patient safety. She is currently a visiting professor at Imperial College and Northumbria University. She provides patient safety consultancy to a variety of organisations in the UK and across the globe and is also a member of the research team evaluating the roll out of the patient safety incident response framework. Previous roles include Clinical Governance Lead for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Board member at the National Patient Safety Agency and NHS Resolution and National Clinical Director for the Sign up to Safety campaign on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care. Academically she has a Doctorate in Patient Safety and a masters in clinical risk. She was awarded an honorary doctorate of science for her work in patient safety and has written three books on a positive approach to patient safety.
